Museum on the Mound

Located in the Bank of Scotland's former Head Office, the Museum on the mound takes a look at the history of banking and the evolution of money in all its forms: coins, banknotes, shares, securities, and insurance. The star of the exhibition is a box with 1 million pounds in 20 pound banknotes, but, among many other things in display, there is a quite extensive collection of Scottish coinage and banknotes from medieval times to the present.
