The new museum, with renewed museography and curatorship, is committed to being an educational, formative and conservation space for the numismatic heritage of the country and of the State of Mexico in particular. Presents the pieces in an organized manner and accompanied by adequate means for understanding the political, economic and social contexts around which the pieces presented in the exhibition were created, in addition to the symbols printed on them and other relevant aspects. The current exhibition is made up of more than 1,200 pieces arranged chronologically from the appearance of the first Mesoamerican means of exchange around 600 BC, to contemporary currency, including audiovisual installations to understand cryptocurrencies and today's gimmick; It also presents commemorative issues, medals, decorations, actions and other diverse means of exchange that have been used in Mexico and are part of the scope of numismatic work. Three of its outstanding pieces are the eight-shield gold coin of Felipe V, the eight-real silver coin from the State of Mexico mint and the decoration of the coat of arms of the State of Mexico awarded to Wenceslao Labra by the respectable Benito Juparex Symbolic Lodge.
